I passed my test first time all thanks to Gary and Mo. They are the two best driving instructors at Herne Hill, I 100% recommend them. They’re both very supportive and patient and if you go with either one of them you’re guaranteed to pass. Honestly cannot recommend Mo enough — hands down the best instructor in South. passed my test first time with only 2 minors thanks to Mo. His patience is unreal, his teaching is next level, and he always broke things down in a way that actually made sense. It's been a great couple of years learning with HHDS. My instructor, Tyron, was always very personable and effective at making me feel at ease while I got to grips with driving. He kept things simple, was very patient and responsive to the areas I needed to focus. I was able to make good progress through the various manoeuvres as a result. Learning to drive with Mohamed was a great experience. He made every lesson feel comfortable and stress-free, almost like driving with a friend, while always encouraging and challenging me to improve and pay attention to the details that matter. All of his tips and advice proved to be incredibly useful, both during lessons and on my driving test. Thanks to his guidance and support, I passed my test today on my first attempt with only 2 minor faults. Just had a refresher lesson with Gary. Gary doesn't normally do one-hour lessons but made an allowance for me for a first refresher. He was happy to take me out in my own new car and helped me get comfortable with the car and doing some key manoeuvres. Gary knows the area well and simplified the manoeuvres for me in my new car. I passed my driving test with 0 MINORS at Mitcham with Salim. I am so so grateful for all the support he gave me. I was consistently working hard but he was always teaching me. He was very very patient and motivating and I could not have prayed for a better instructor. If there was an option to give ten stars, I would. I purchased a package of 10 driving lessons and have completed two so far. Rehaan is an outstanding instructor—knowledgeable, friendly, polite, patient, and incredibly flexible. It's clear that he is passionate about teaching, and every lesson with him is both enjoyable and rewarding. I previously took lessons with another driving school, but my experience with Herne Hill Driving School has been on a completely different level. Salim was my driving instructor he was fantastic, very passionate, knowledgeable and filled with great experience. I love how Salim was patient with me and rectified my mistakes In a calm manner making sure I didn’t feel ashamed but I understood what the problem was.He made me feel comfortable from the first lesson onwards I only had 12 lessons and passed first time with 3 minors. I couldn’t recommend Gary highly enough. I had a bad accident and, as a result, hadn’t driven for 10 years, so I was understandably very nervous about getting back behind the wheel. Gary was fantastic from the very first lesson and quickly helped rebuild my confidence. He was patient, reassuring and encouraging (and funny), but also very focused and efficient. He never wasted any time during lessons, immediately got me back on the road, leaving no room for me to get too nervous or overthink anything, which was perfect for me. He tailored lessons to exactly what I needed to work on, which meant I made progress quickly without feeling pressured. He was also always punctual and reliable, which made the whole experience even easier. Also, offering lessons 7am - 9am meant I could easily fit lessons around my busy job. Thanks to Gary, I now feel confident and comfortable driving again, something I genuinely wasn’t sure I would ever feel after my accident. In addition to calming my nerves, he’s also made me a better driver! I’m so glad I chose him for my refresher lessons and would highly recommend him to anyone who wants to learn, is nervous about getting back on the road or simply wants to improve their driving.

Had my test booked and contacted Sophie on a really short notice to start my lessons but she was super patient, constructive and helpful. I made huge progress from when I started and genuinely became a better driver in such a short period of time that I recommend anyone who wants to get their license to book with Herne Hill Driving School. Honestly can’t Thanks Sophie enough for the time and effort she put into my lessons. Thankfully I managed to pass due to practicing on test routes that were common at my designated center. I started driving lessons with Gary with no prior driving experience, he was very patient throughout our journey together from back roads to main roads and then to test routes. Miz is an absolutely spectacular instructor! I PASSED FIRST TIME. I had to pass first time as my L license was running out the day after. I had tried two other instructors prior, and was still really nervous, so signed up to 15 lessons. GOOD IDEA. Learning with Miz is a breeeeze. For ANYONE learning/preparing for the test—Miz is the best instructor you could have. I consider myself extremely lucky to have found him. He is a genuinely gifted teacher and a high level professional. His way of explaining things, his timing, his emphasis, the methods and technique he instills—are crystal clear, easy and absolutely reliable. With Miz you will know how to keep yourself and everyone else on the road safe, and you'll park like a pro. He understands the student and their quirks and aptitudes and tailors the instruction to how that specific person can best acquire and refine their skills—he'll find the driver in you! He has a calm, collected, and consistent way of making comments, and passing on skills with ease, that with every lesson you can feel yourself improving and becoming more confident. You always feel like you can ask him anything. He is always there, always ready, always on. He helped me build confidence—and importantly, it was really fun!  We always had a great time during lessons. There wasn't much sitting on the side of the road discussing things—always moving. My test was in West Wickham (but he also does Bromley and Mitcham), and we practiced those routes a lot, so when it came time for the test, there were no surprises. I was taught by Johan from not being able to move a car to passing last Friday - I could not ask for a better instructor. He was very clear, extremely calm - never at all raising his voice or anything like that - and overall a brilliant teacher as well as being a great guy to chat with!!! I passed my test today for the first time with two minors. I had Gary as an instructor and I would definitely recommend him to everyone! I started with Gary just over a year ago with no experience driving before him. I found that I progressed very quickly. Since I am at university, I could only do lessons when I came home for the holidays. However, this was not a problem since Gary made a great effort to book me in as often as possible when I was back so I could continue progressing as a driver. Lessons with Gary have been so much fun and not stressful at all. He teaches you to be an overall safe and good driver that is ready to handle any situation not just the test. Reached out to a couple of local driving schools and Herne Hill Driving School (Gary specifically) got back to me so quickly to book me in for a refresher driving lesson. I communicated that I was super apprehensive having not driven at all since passing my test 4 years ago but Gary was incredibly reassuring and confident about getting me back on the road ASAP. Booked in for  a 3 hour lesson and was back on the road in no time driving around South London covering a massive range of all the skills that I needed to brush up on. I can't speak highly enough about how effective an instructor Gary was and also how seamless the booking process was. I had moved about and hadn’t had the opportunity to do my test and he guided me through each manoeuvre and gave me a lot of confidence in the lead up to my test :) Passed first time and it’s honestly thanks you him, very patient and kind throughout our lessons. I also appreciated that I didn’t feel I was getting ripped off, I had an instructor previously who was pushing me to have tons of lessons without even having a test booked which felt unnecessary. For my first ever driving lesson as you could imagine I was nervous. But the moment I got in the car Rehaan made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend Rehaan! My driving confidence was incredibly low when I started, but his calm and patient teaching style changed everything. He broke down complex skills easily and helped me master parallel parking in no time. Thanks to his expert guidance, I passed my driving test on the very first attempt! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had my very first driving lesson with Emmanuel yesterday after avoiding driving for 28 years due to a serious car accident that left me with severe driving anxiety. For years, I had recurring nightmares about crashing, and the thought of getting behind the wheel was terrifying. At the age of 55, learning to drive again felt like a huge challenge, but Emmanuel made the experience so much easier. He was incredibly professional, calm, patient, and encouraging. He explained everything step by step in a very simple and easy-to-understand way, which helped build my confidence from the very beginning. To my surprise, on my very first lesson I drove all the way from Walthamstow to Elephant & Castle! I never imagined I could do that after so many years. Thank you, Emmanuel, for believing in me and helping me overcome a fear I've carried for nearly three decades. Super super happy to have passed my test first time with a couple of minors, thanks to my instructor Malek. He was very thorough and he really made sure I was ready for every eventuality. Passed today first time thanks to my amazing driving instructor, Saba! A wonderful experience learning to drive with HHDS. Saba was such a kind, patient and reassuring instructor. Who took my confidence from 0-100 in a short amount of time. Driving did not come natural to me at all and my nerves were always so high but Saba really helped me through this. Today, I passed my manual driving test on my first attempt, and I would like to say a huge thank you to Mo for everything he has done for me. Mo is not only a fantastic driving instructor but also a genuinely great person. I had a driving licence from my home country, but I hadn't driven for years and had never driven in the UK. When I started lessons with him, I lacked confidence and had developed many bad driving habits. In many ways, it was more challenging to correct those habits than to teach a complete beginner. Thanks to Mo's well-structured, detailed, and professional lessons, I have become a much safer and more confident driver. He doesn't just teach you how to pass your test; he teaches you how to be a good driver for life. He constantly encouraged me, built my confidence, and helped me improve every aspect of my driving. Despite my unpredictable work schedule, Mo was always flexible and did his best to find lesson times that worked for me. You can genuinely see how much he cares about his students and how committed he is to helping them succeed. Gary built my confidence behind the wheel up along with my driving ability with endless tricks and tips for not only manoeuvres, but also all those unexpected situations that can arise when on the road. I’m very pleased to say that I passed my test first time with Salim as my driving instructor, He was very calm and patient with me, he also reassured me whenever I made mistakes, and I did not feel pressured at any point throughout the duration of my lessons. I had a fantastic experience learning to drive with Syed at Herne Hill driving school. I can confidently and happily recommended him to anyone who is wants to learn how to drive. He is both calm and patient and an exemplary professional and incredibly knowledgeable about driving. His teaching style and approach helped me build my confidence, and he always took the time and effort to explain helping to ensure that I steadily learned to grow as a driver. His lessons were well-structured, with clear focuses and aims  and he was reliable and punctual. Great experience with Herne Hill Driving School for my 17 year old daughter. In particular instructor Mohammed who has been a pleasure to deal with in organising lessons and the logistics involved with the test itself. Mo has been very polite and responsive in all communications with me and has been very calm, informative, fun and above all provided great instruction to a young and inexperienced learner driver. I passed my test on the first attempt today thanks to Mohamed!!! He’s been such an amazing instructor throughout, always being clear and simple with his explanations to make driving super easy. Its been great learning with him as he’s so friendly, funny and easy to talk to, making every lesson enjoyable. As someone who didn’t have a car at home to practice with, he was definitely the right teacher for me since we’d waste no time and spend every second on the road so I had as much practice as possible, leaving me well prepared by the time my test came up and getting only 4 minors. I can't rate my experience with Herne hill driving school highly enough. Having had terrible experiences with another well known driving school, I made the decision to give HHDS a go. Right from the off Sarah was very courteous and quick to reply. First off I had Johan as an instructor who was a great calming influence and really helped progress my driving, correcting a lot of bad habits I'd picked up from previous instructors. Due to the dvsa cancelling my test and Johan being away, I got back in touch to find another instructor. Again the response was very quick and I was left in the hands of Mo. He again took my driving to another level, making me feel very confident heading into my test. Whilst the idea of 3 hour lessons seemed a bit daunting at first, they absolutely flew by and were the most fun I've had driving to date. He's especially good at explaining what's gone wrong and how to fix it. All whilst being incredibly chilled about it. I couldn't have hoped for two better instructors. Have had my driving license for two years, but hadn't (until yesterday) driven on the motorway and was quite nervous about driving at high speeds, so arranged a one-off motorway lesson with Gary - and now feel much more confident to drive on the motorway again. Really enjoyed the lesson and Gary was great at putting me at ease - covering different junctions and changing lanes, as well as a small amount of country road driving. The only negative thing about my experience with Syed is that I didn’t have him sooner!!! After having an unpleasant experience with a previous Herne Hill instructor, I made the bold (and risky) decision to change instructors just one week before my first booked test in January. After my very first lesson with Syed, I realised two things immediately: first, I was nowhere near test-ready , and second, this is what it feels like to have a truly professional instructor. His teaching style was incredibly reassuring. Despite having already completed 30 hours with another instructor, I felt completely comfortable starting again from scratch under Syed’s guidance. That alone says everything about his exceptional teaching style. What stood out most to me after just one trial lesson was Syed’s philosophy of prioritising safe driving above all else. It was never just about passing the test, it was about making sure I become a safe, confident, and responsible driver for life. That mindset was genuinely refreshing and so reassuring. Syed has everything you could want in an instructor: excellent time management, outstanding teaching ability, patience, encouragement, and a fantastic personality. He creates an environment where you feel comfortable learning, growing in confidence, and improving every lesson. I never once left a lesson with Syed without learning something valuable. He is an instructor I would seriously recommend to anyone, and if you get the chance to learn with him, count yourself lucky. Fast forward to today, I passed my test with only 2 minors. After a difficult start with a previous instructor, we decided to change companies, and that’s when we found Mo. It truly made all the difference for my son. From the very first lesson, Mo created a calm and supportive environment that helped rebuild his confidence behind the wheel. His approach was consistently encouraging, never rushed, and always understanding of my son’s nerves. After failing my first test in Lincoln and stopping driving lessons for half a year I thought I would reach out and find driving lessons again I got referred to Clive who has been an instructor like none I’ve ever had before, he's like a friend but with all the experience you need to pass your test, im quite a nervous person and with him he was able to calm me down, play some music more chill vibes and even on the day of my test I was worried and he calmed me down, I managed to pass my test today and with only having around a month of consistently doing lessons again, he's the best instructor i’ve ever had and a great person more than willing to compromise with time and managed to help me pass couldn't recommend him enough

Today, I passed my driving test and I am very grateful to my driving instructor Mohamed. When I initially began my lessons with him, I had very low confidence in my driving abilities and constantly doubted myself. I also found myself second guessing my decisions quite often. However, from the very beginning, Mohamed saw the potential in me. When I wanted to stay in my comfort zone, he carefully guided me out of this, encouraging me to push past my fears and to recognise my capabilities. Mohamed is a caring, patient and optimistic instructor, who has helped me to gradually develop my confidence. His sincere demeanour and continuous support enabled me to persevere, even during the times I wanted to give up. His chilled but thought provoking lessons, always left me with hope that I would pass one day. During the times I felt overwhelmed, Mohamed recognised this and helped me to remain calm, while also guiding me through those difficult moments. This is what stood out to me about  Mohamed, his emotional awareness and ability to support his students beyond driving. This has helped me to become less of a nervous driver. I had a great experience learning to drive with Harish. He is very clear on the rules and expectations, which really helps build a strong foundation from the start. What stood out most was how clearly and patiently he explains things - whether it’s a manoeuvre, a junction, or general driving principles, he makes sure you genuinely understand, not just follow instructions. I had prior driving experience in another country, but the transition to driving in the UK isn’t straightforward. Harish was extremely helpful in bridging that gap and refining my driving to meet UK test standards. Thanks to his guidance, I was able to clear my test on the first attempt. He can be a bit “tough love” at times, but in hindsight that worked out for the best. He doesn’t let mistakes slide, and his meticulous approach ensures you’re fully prepared. When I had to juggle days and hours with work he always went out of his way to make sure he could accommodate any time I needed, even when I was making his life way too difficult. I can’t recommend Mo enough. There was always a calm and patient environment in the car, the tunes were always cold and I even put him onto Bad Bunny so he’s a real one now. He already knows he hasn’t seen the last of me and I’ll be shouting him for motorway lessons soon. Thanks again for everything Mo! Having not driven properly since I passed my test 13 years ago I was pretty nervous but doing some refreshers with Gary has really boosted my confidence. He threw me straight in there which is exactly what I needed. His confidence helped to put me at ease and I’m happy to be back on the road! EDIT- I did a motorway refresher lesson with Gary last weekend which went really well! Again his relaxed teaching style helps put you at ease. Started with Herne Hill driving school in may , had to change driving instructors by August then I ended up having Mohamed as my driving instructor & it was the best decision ever as he helped me to pass. In such a short time Lance has been able to prepare me for my driving test and I was able to pass first time with him as my instructor😁. His diligent teachings of always making sure you drive as a learner with safety and control, built a massive improvement for my driving skills, and made the driving test easy . He constantly believed in me and always wanted to best for me has helped me pass. Im sure im not the best learner as I was always overthinking haha , but one thing im definitely sure is Lance is definitely the best instructor there is out there. And now that  I have passed my driving test I’m confident to say my Life after lance is going to change for the better thanks to his amazing knowledge. Had a great 3 hour motorway lesson with Mohammed today. I passed back in September with another school and hadn’t driven since and also not been on a motorway before but he was very quick to get me confident again and learning all the basics for motorway, dual carriageways and country road driving. I had a great experience learning to drive with my Maliyr. He was very patient, highly skilled, and always explained things clearly. What helped me the most was how he built my confidence behind the wheel. Even when I made mistakes, he stayed calm and supportive, which made learning much easier and less stressful. I’m so pleased to have found Herne Hill Driving School and my instructor Salim. After years of starting and giving up on learning to drive, I quickly started to see progress with Salim. He is very patient and encouraging and has a way of making things make sense. He’s also extremely reliable - no cancelled or rearranged lessons which meant I was able to build my skills and confidence week on week. I passed my driving test three weeks ago with Herne Hill driving school and I had Clive as my instructor. Originally I had been with Reds driving school, but could never get enough lessons to feel I had consistent growth and comfort behind the wheel. I could drive, but I never felt settled. With Herne Hill Driving School I got as many lessons as I felt I need with Clive. In my first lesson with him he told me directly that he was going to teach me how to pass the test, which is something I had a lot of worry over. He worked on making sure I felt comfortable while driving and knew how to handle any stress I might have while driving. If you want a taster lesson with Clive please ask Herne Hill to put you in contact with him. I honestly can’t thank Mo enough for everything he’s done for me. I passed my manual driving test first time, and I truly couldn’t have done it without him. I had such a good experience with Herne hill Driving School, especially with my instructor, Clive. Before I started lessons with him, I had a different instructor, and honestly, Clive is 10 times better. From the very first lesson, he made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed, which made such a difference to my confidence. He quickly picked up on my strengths and weaknesses and tailored each lesson around what I actually needed to work on. There were a few things I used to be really nervous about, but he helped me face them step by step until they didn’t feel scary anymore. Funny enough, I first found out about Clive because he was driving through the area blasting loud music, which definitely got my attention! Here Hill driving school is an excellent establishment, I had the pleasure of learning with one of their teachers Clive who was amazing. In our first lesson he had me on the roads driving and feeling confident! Taking away any stress or anxiety I had. He is particularly good at making driving fun, educational and enjoyable. I have to particularly emphasise his methodology of teaching, unlike other instructors I’ve been we’ve who overload you with instructions and information, he makes learning a process where it’s okay to make mistakes and learn effectively with them, he never got frustrated or impatience and always kindly guided my driving accordingly to my weakness. He is an excellent teacher who knows makes driving simple whilst also being exceptionally educated on the technicalities of driving, car anatomy and the road laws. Passed 1st time with Clive He got me a Saturday 07:33 test Everything you have read about Clive on here is true and real. Lessons are indeed fun and he teaches well and I agree it is Infact difficult to fail your driving test under Clive’s guidance. If you get Clive as your instructor just sit back and enjoy the ride. He knows exactly what to do with you and when to do it. I have never seen so many reviews about one person It’s insane how hard he works for his pupils his work ethic is absolutely insane. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone that works as hard as he does I honestly don’t know how he does it. Clive got me a perfect drive the examiner recorded zero faults in my driving. I passed my driving test 1st time with Herne Hill driving school with Clive as my instructor. All we did was play loud music. What a service every lesson was fun. I can’t believe I passed first time Clive is a excellent teacher He is experienced his knowledge of road rules is amazing. He doesn’t let you do anything wrong ever. I got front forward bay park and I was able to do it properly. I was recommended to Clive by my next door neighbour who  passed 1st time under Clive I started my lessons with London driving school I did 28hrs with London driving school. I didn’t feel like I was making any progress the lessons felt strict and just felt like my progress came to a standstill I want not enjoying it. The lessons with Clive was different enjoyable the music helped. I am not sure what it is about the music that helped but it definitely took the seriousness out the lesson Clive is patient Clive is calm and his way of fixing your driving error has a way of building you.  Clive encourages you to engage with the examiner rather then sit quietly as this helps to build comfort between you and the examiner. Questions such as how long have you been an examiner, what made you become an examiner and what do you enjoy most about your job gets the examiner engaging with you. It also shows confidence and presence. I did the test without music as I wanted to concentrate on the task at hand. The difference between my last instructor who worked for London driving school and Clive was very evident from the get go. I was told off I was made to feel bad about whatever mistake I made. And I was offered no remedy in order to fix the mistake. Without a remedy you can’t turn the page or move on. So do make sure your instructor gives you a remedy for ever mistake you make in the car. You can cross your hands in a driving test and you won’t fail as long as you have control of the car You can turn left and right in gear 3 you don’t need to drop down a gear. You control the car with your speed not with your speed If you park on your test and you hit the kerb it’s not the end of the world you won’t fail. The one tip I can offer is to engage the examiner in conversation Clive really pushes for this. As this makes a difference in how you feel but also displays confidence and presence. If your examiner pulls you up on the left Clive encourages you to ask him or she to open the door and find out if the examiner is happy with that or if you need to move closer to the kerb If you do a bay park and you have completed the manoeuvre you may ask the examiner to open his door and seek validation These are all the things that I picked up along my journey with Clive. My younger sister will be starting her lessons soon with Clive and one more thing. The reviews that you read about Clive are real. He is exactly what you read about him. After my sister, brother and friends all came to Clive (and passed, eventually), I was left with no other choice than to be taught by the man himself. And thank God. First time pass. What can I say! CLIVE is the best driving instructor ever. From the moment I met him the very first words to me were “I’m going to make sure you pass”. Geordie lass passes first time with Clive I can’t believe this geordie lass passed first time. The music was banging like. We played everything. I didn’t know you could play music in your test. Brought my playlist and played the Music of my choice. The examiner was chilled like, I think she enjoyed the music as much as I did to be fair. The examiner took me off route today  it literally was the test route from hell I had to deal with everything today we did a route never ever done before which shows how much Clive built my driving ability. If you get Clive as an instructor you do not need to memories test routes the way Clive teaches you is that you can drive on any route given. You can apply and transfer the skills he gives you on any route and he told me this. The examiner gave me a parelle park on a main road like 😂 and i absolutely smashed it and another thing about Clive is he will get you parelle parking on a main road with loud music on which helps prepare you for your test. The music is an absolute game changer it lifts you Got taken off route today and i absolutely smashed it. I can’t praise Clive enough like some of the technic he gives you makes it very very difficult for you to fail your driving test. I applied everything he taught me and nothing caught me out.  I don’t want to say it’s impossible to fail with Clive because you never know what can happen on the day but it’s very difficult to fail your driving test under Clive. The guy just breaths it. Get in contact with Clive. Ask Herne Hill to put you in contact with Clive Thank you Herne Hill I shall definitely be sharing my experience with all my friends and family. I want to touch on one last thing the examiners in mitcham are very professional they come out make you feel chilled and provide a good service I enjoyed the 45 mins I spent in the car with the examiner. A banana a day keeps the nerves at bay. Thank you Sarah thank you Clive thank you Herne Hill driving school it was a 10/10 experience. Not one bad lesson not one boring lesson the music was absolutely insane You must try a lesson with Clive you must try a lesson with music on its absolutely insane. My confidence was built instantly within 4hrs with Clive I don’t know where to start with Clive honestly he is such a talented instructor he sees absolutely his knowledge regarding road rules is undefeated 100% you’re gonna love your lessons with Clive.  Just trust in him. He knows when to put the music on when to switch it off. He has the right balance. The music is absolutely insane Also my friend told me to eat a banana as it helps to keep nerves away. And it did exactly that. Didn’t feel nervous. Performed to my ability Was it the banana was it the music or was it Clive. I’d say it was all 3 if I’m honest. Clive teaches you how to drive on one leg that part of his lesson will blow your mind away. It’s absolutely insane. You would never know you could drive the car on one leg. A question Clive asked me When you approach a roundabout where is the gap is it in front of the approaching car or behind it. What’s the difference between driving fast and driving quick. He is gonna throw questions at you so be ready Also Clive has a brand new Audi A3 2026 coming in March it’s gonna be bright red. I’m gonna do motorway lessons with him in March. Get signed up to his lesson asap he is in serious demand A tip for future pupils once you get in Clive’s car plan all your lessons with him at once because if you don’t you won’t be able to get hold of him He gets a lot of messages and can’t reply to all of them You will need roughly 30-40 hours with him not more Make sure you get all them lessons in before you leave his car. I want to say a huge thank you to Mohammed for all the support, dedication, and effort he put into my driving lessons. When I first started, I didn’t know how to drive at all. From day one, Mohammed was extremely patient, calm, and professional. He always took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I fully understood before moving on. What really stood out to me was how much he genuinely cared about my progress. He didn’t hesitate to change his schedule so I could get extra driving time, and he always pushed me to improve and drive at a test level. He was serious about my training but also very understanding and supportive. It was clear that he truly wanted me to pass my test. Mohammed went above and beyond in every way. When I moved to a new place, he didn’t hesitate to travel outside of his usual area to continue my lessons and even came to my new address so I could keep driving without any stress. That level of commitment really shows how dedicated he is to his students. Thanks to his guidance, patience, and motivation, I passed my driving test with only 5 minor faults. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better instructor. Mohammed is professional, reliable, and genuinely invested in his student’s success. A family member recommended Lance to me, and it was an absolute pleasure being taught by him. He is thorough, professional, and incredibly patient. Came to Gary 3 weeks before my driving test, after having completed 42 hours of lessons with another instructor and not feeling ready. I have a license from my home country so didn't expect that many lessons but I was treated as a new student. With Gary, in two lessons felt way more confident than ever and after 12 hours worth of lessons I passed first time! Mohammed (Mo) is the GOAT (from HHDS). He somehow got me from being a terrible driver with infinite bad habits, to passing 1st time in a short window. If you’re struggling to pick the right driving instructor look no further than this guy. I Had a couple of driving instructors before Mo, neither of which made me feel comfortable in the car. A sort of eerie silence occurred throughout lessons which made driving a fairly unpleasant experience, and If I did something wrong, instead of eerie silence I’d get the entire driving instructors handbook read to me. Mo on the other hand made me feel like I was driving around with one of my friends, flowing conversations, cheeky banter, comedy aspects, and for someone who struggles with nerves and anxiety this felt like I had struck gold. Now although Mo was friendly and not scared to joke around, he was professional and serious about getting me to pass, and he drilled out all my awful habits, and slowly walked me through things like roundabouts, then made me do them over and over again until I no longer made any mistakes. I know he has many other students, but it felt like all his energy was focused on me. THE WAY MO TEACHES MANOEUVRES!!! (I’ve put this bit in bold in case you didn’t want to read the rest as it’s probably the most important thing to know). I started driving with my parents, and hadn’t really had any parking practice due to certain events in sainsbury's car park. In about 30 minutes, Mo had taught me how to do not only reverse bay, but every single parking manoeuvre there was to learn. The methods he has are simply unrivalled, and I could suddenly pull of these once complex manoeuvres every time without fail. Mo came with me to the test centre, and when he heard I passed he couldn’t have looked more pleased, almost like he had passed his driving test, such a great feeling to know when someone genuinely cares about their students, and I can’t thank him enough for his pure excellence, such a sound guy. Just passed my test today, first time with one minor, thanks to Herne Hill Driving School. I had a number of kind and experienced instructors, but I would like to give special thanks to Gary. I truly do not think I would have done so well without him. He took me on as a learner only 2 weeks before my test, and improved my driving so significantly in that time. He gave me great advice and made me feel so much more comfortable and confident on the road. He definitely taught me driving skills that were even beyond what I needed for the test. I passed first time at West Wickham with thanks to Gary. Although, he was my third driving instructor at HHDS, he was by far the best. I didn't click with the two previous instructors and I was losing hope with my test approaching, but I learnt more in the first two hours with Gary than I had done in months with other instructors. He believed in me right from the start and was patient, motivating, and clear on how to progress. Gary pushed me further and grew my confidence as a driver far quicker than my other two instructors and he actually made driving fun (!!) so I felt comfortable behind the wheel. I would like to say a massive thank you to Herne Hill driving school It has been a journey I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute with Clive I would say that lessons with him made learning fun. He kept fun in the middle of everything we did. Clive has the patience of a saint. There were many moments where I panicked but Clive always kept it together and his sense of calmness makes you feel calm and secure. You’re free to build ability and confidence. I am absolutely going to miss my driving lessons with him. On the day of the test Clive wanted me to take the test with music on as he found that made me less anxious. ⭐️ I just passed my test today - first time with 4 minors! ⭐️ Gary was an incredible driving instructor - patient, kind, funny, and genuinely so enjoyable to learn with. From the very first session, he got me straight back into driving with clear, focused instruction and no time wasted. He always explained things simply, gave practical strategies that made a real difference, and tailored every lesson to my needs. Since never driving in the UK before, I was really nervous to start with (Gary can confirm I was sweating behind that wheel haha!) — but he helped me build my confidence back up and made me feel so comfortable on the road. I honestly enjoyed our lessons so much; every hour felt valuable. I spent just under 40 hours learning, and I’d happily spend those 40 hours again with Gary because of how fun and easy he made it. It was a shame he couldn’t be there on my test day (he was on a well-deserved holiday!), but I had Mohamed to replace him and he was great too - patient, informative, and made me feel super confident on the morning of my test. Gary always goes above and beyond to support his pupils, and I’d 100% recommend him to anyone looking to build or rebuild their driving confidence quickly and effectively. He genuinely is the best…and ALWAYS right 😂 I’m looking forward to my final couple of sessions for motorway lessons with him. Miz was the best teacher I could have asked for! We had about 10 2 hour sessions over the last 3 months. I've had a few lessons in the past from different teachers but couldn't take my test due to Covid and other factors. I decided this would be the year I'd finally pass my test. After those sessions with Miz I felt more confident and knowledgeable. He is extremely patient, informative and funny. His teaching style is very diligent yet relaxed. Could not recommend enough. My instructor, Salim, was everything I could have asked for. He was extremely good at teaching. He made every process of learning to drive easy. He prepares you for every section of the driving test thoroughly and thoughtfully and also gives advice for navigating everyday driving scenarios. On top of this all, he is extremely understanding and supportive if you ever have any issues. It is easy to tell he cares for his students and only wishes they do well in their driving journey. I would like to say a very big thank you to Herne Hill driving school I just passed my driving test first time under Clive. I was taught how to drive safely and to respond to road to road situations. When I got into Clive’s car the very first question he ever asked me was. What is the difference between a reaction and a response. And his answer was a response is when you put your thoughts ahead of your actions. And that is exactly what Clive teaches you. He teaches you the difference between seeing a situation and reading a situation He teaches you to see with your brain rather than your eyes. He is absolutely a very talented instructor and I would highly recommend him as an instructor you will highly enjoy your lessons with him. He plays music also. There won’t be any boring lessons in his car. I honestly will miss our lessons a lot. Money well spent. Clive also predicted my test route correctly and predicted my manoeuvre correctly also He is a highly experienced instructor who started his journey as an instructor in a small town in Yorkshire called rippon. 10/10 experience with Herne Hill driving school. I did just 28 hours from scratch with Clive honestly the man is a genius. Every little thing was broken down. Clive was on top of everything every little mistake that I made he was on top of The man is such a perfectionist He isn’t happy unless you’re driving perfectly We had fun good conversations I never once felt uncomfortable in his car. I recommend a little bit of music on as this takes the seriousness out the lesson. I really can’t believe I passed today I started my lessons with Clive only a few weeks ago. Passed this morning with all the thanks to Mo for being such a great instructor! He has a very calm demeanour and helped put me at ease when learning to drive. I had a few lessons prior dating back to before covid and before moving to London, so when I started again recently I was basically starting fresh again and Mo helped with absolutely everything necessary to keep me focused, aware and most importantly, safe, when driving around South London. He has a great way of explaining the manoeuvres as well as assuring you dial in all necessary checks while driving to smash your test. I passed today due to Miz's positive, super helpful and patient guidance. My first instructor didn't want to give me lessons anymore so I had to seek a new one. I found Herne Hill driving school online and we arranged lessons. I failed my first and second driving tests because I can't cope with my anxiety but Miz gave me a lot of encouragement and kept pushing me to stay positive whilst he corrected my mistakes kindly. I finally passed today due to his attitude towards me. If you need an automatic  driving instructor with good sense of humor, knowledgeable and patient, he's the man to go to. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Aron from Herne Hill Driving School for helping me out yesterday to pick up my new vehicle from Anold Clark. Aron arrived at my home just on time. He was very friendly and respectful. We jumped into Uber and go straight to Anold clark. I was completely filled with nerves as I have not driven that type of  car before but Aron assured me that everything will be okay. When the car was handed over to us, Aron took his time to help me sit comfortably in the car making sure that everything was well adjusted before we got on the road. Aron knew everything about this new car and I drove safely to my home. He gave me thorough training about this vehicle and its amazing how he is so knowledgeable about vehicles. I recently passed my practical exam on the first try and owe a lot  of credit to Johan, who was a fantastic instructor and who I would highly recommend. I had experience driving while living abroad, and he did a great job of making sure that I was fully up to speed on all the basics and rules here in the UK and also providing clear instruction and explanation on areas where I needed to improve in preparation for the exam. Johan was very supportive and maintained a friendly and professional environment both while in the car, and when scheduling lessons and my exam. Salim is honestly one of the best instructors I’ve had. Thanks to his clear explanations and support, I managed to pass my test! He made everything so much easier to understand and always took the time to go over anything I was struggling with. You can tell he genuinely wants his students to succeed. Miz was so patient, calm and kind as he helped me pass my driving test. As someone with dyspraxia, I was extremely anxious to learn how to drive and thought that it may never be possible for me!  But he really helped build my confidence so I felt less nervous about making mistakes behind the wheel. They put me in touch with one of their instructors Syed, who was absolutely brilliant. Syed was patient, calm, and full of knowledge, tips and tricks which really helped me in learning how to safely travel on the road and confidently control the vehicle. I was lucky to get Mohamed as my instructor. He was very patient, understanding, friendly and comfortable to be around, clear in his explanation and reassured me when I was stressed. His tone was very kind when I made mistakes and I truly appreciated it. He made sure I was confident enough to drive on my own by the end of every lessons. Passed first time with Mo, who is the best instructor EVER!. Didn’t have great experiences before contacting Herne Hill driving school but Mo made me feel comfortable, reassured me and also made lessons super fun. 10/10 Gary is a superb instructor. I started very nervous having never sat behind the wheel before and because of him I passed first try with only 2 minors! I am a school teacher myself and I've been impressed with his teaching; he's well experienced, clear, calm, and flexible in his practice. It's not just safety and skills but confidence I'll take with me beyond the test. I feel well set up to drive independently and would recommend the experience to anyone whatever your level. Edit: I just had a 3h motorway lesson with Gary it's another 10/10. I've gained a lot of confidence driving on duel carriageways and motorways. I felt safe merging into quick traffic and had lots of practice overtaking. Gary made it a lot of fun and I still learned a lot. I'd recommend this to anyone who's just passed. On my first test, I failed due to a bad turn, so I knew that if I was going to pass, I needed some more advice about my driving. I contacted Herne Hill driving school two weeks before my test to get some tips on how to pass it. They got in contact with me. I had two lessons with Tye about my bad habits, he corrected me and gave lots of tips to pass my test. Gary was the best teacher ever! I have 0 driving experience but he shaped me into a very confident driver which resulted in me passing on my first attempt with only 3 minors. He is calm, clear, kind and funny and makes driving a joy! Usually people are scared of manoeuvres such as parallel parking, but with the tips and tricks he taught me everything was a breeze to learn. I passed my driving test first time with Herne Hill driving school, even in a test centre that I was not super experienced with, and this was due to the fantastic teaching of Lance. Lance was an incredible driving instructor, he helped me build my confidence, was patient, kind, funny and generally super enjoyable to learn to drive with. I didn’t have the best experience with learning to drive before contacting Herne Hill driving school and being paired with Lance - and I am forever grateful to you Lance for helping me move through the blocker of not being able to drive and helping me to achieve something I truly thought I never would! Gary is a fantastic driving instructor who helped me regain my confidence behind the wheel with his refresher lessons. Malek is a brilliant instructor no matter what level of driving you are at. His teaching style is easy to understand, knowledgeable and relevant to the driving test. A down to earth individual with a heart of gold and helped me calm down before my test and gave me confidence. I did some refresher driving lessons with Gary having hardly driven since I passed my test nine years ago. I was very nervous to start with and Gary really helped me to get my confidence back and get me driving again, especially when I was thinking of giving up! He was very supportive and patient, and was an excellent teacher who gave great practical advice. He was always on time and reliable for all our lessons, and tailored them towards my needs including motorway and countryside driving in preparation for driving abroad. I passed my test in a manual car first time with the teaching and support of Malek at Herne Hill Driving School. Malek was a joy to work with. He has lots of knowledge and experience and I felt very safe and confident with his instruction. This was a very positive experience. I had all my driving lessons with Miz, and I can't thank him enough for all the work he put on making sure I was learning the road well. Miz is not only an instructor, but also a great company to have throughout your learning process. I had a very good experience learning how to drive with both Neil and Anita. I passed after my second attempt and I could not be more happier. After failing the first time both instructors made me gain the confidence that I will pass the second time. They both sacrifice time outside their working hours to help me. As an anxious learner, I struggled immensely with my nerves when driving. I was paired with Miz as a driving instructor who helped me not only with my driving skills, but also to have confidence on the road and behind the wheel. Prior to the test,I was able to practice manoeuvres intensely as I was extremely worried. Thankfully, I was able to pass my test (first time) and was consistently assisted and reassured by Miz on my driving ability.
